how it works

save it. play it. keep it.

1

save from anywhere

Tap Share in any app and pick braid, or paste a link on a computer. Already keep a playlist on YouTube? Import it and it stays in sync.

2

play it in one place

One player for every platform: shuffle, repeat, a queue, keyboard controls. Shorts and long videos alike, with no hopping between apps.

3

keep what matters

If a video is deleted or made private, braid still knows what it was and plays another copy instead: a backup link you added, or a re-upload it found.

On your phone too. Add braid to your home screen on Android, or to the share sheet on iPhone with a one-time Shortcut. Your library is the same everywhere.

premium

the original got deleted.
it still plays.

Videos disappear: creators delete them, accounts get banned, clips get taken down. braid remembers what you saved and plays a backup link if you've added one. With premium it searches for a re-upload and swaps it in for you.

  • Every save remembered: title, creator and thumbnail
  • Backup links: point any save at a copy you keep elsewhere
  • Re-uploads found for you and swapped in

Elsewhere a removed video is a dead link. Here it keeps its title and picture, and usually another way to watch it.

questions

good to know.

Which sites does it work with?+

YouTube (including Shorts), TikTok, Instagram, X, Reddit, Twitch clips, Vimeo, Facebook, Dailymotion, Bluesky, and most other sites with a video on the page. Playlists can be imported from YouTube, Vimeo and Dailymotion.

How do I save from my phone?+

On Android, add braid to your home screen and it appears in the share menu of every app. On iPhone, set up a one-time Shortcut (we walk you through it) and braid shows up in the share sheet.

What does importing a YouTube playlist do?+

It brings in every video and, if you choose, keeps the two in step: add something to the playlist on YouTube and it's in braid the next time you open it, next to everything you saved from other apps.

What happens when a video gets deleted?+

braid keeps a record of everything you save (title, creator, thumbnail), so you'll still see what it was. Anyone can add a backup link to a save (a re-upload, a Streamable clip, a file in your Google Drive or Dropbox) and it plays instead once the original is gone. Premium also searches for re-uploads and swaps one in. braid never stores video itself; backup links are private to you, and shared playlists only ever show originals.

What happens if I stop premium?+

Your playlists stay exactly as they are, backup links included. You just go back to the free limits.

Can I take my data with me?+

Yes. Settings has a one-click export of every playlist, link and backup link.
